Just wanted to pass on these photos of this street piece I recently installed on 25th Street and 3rd Ave. in Manhattan on the exterior of the Carlton Arms Hotel. Entitled 'Ascendants', it's concrete relief and acrylic on wood cut-out panels - 4' x 8' each / 8.5' x 18' total. Note the side view photo which shows the 3d facial features.

I am not looking for attention, just thought you would like to see it because you seem to be into this stuff.
I put it up on December 22 in the Columbus Circle station and it was taken down right after Christmas. It measured 7'x21' made of foam core, wrapping paper, and epoxy resin. I stuck it up with liquid nails, a gallon of contact cement and Gorilla Tape.

The streets of London are paved with gold - well with paper money actually.BA5H makes images solely from coin bashing (counterstamping or countermarking as it is more commonly known). Graffiti in your pocket, Pictures on Coins, pocket-sized street art, whatever you want to call it, BA5H just wants you to think more about your money and what money is: why you use it; who made it; who controls it; why it has a value; how this value can change; who affects the value; is it the route of all evil?

January 11 2008 For a few months, we've been hearing terrible news on TV, on the radio... It sounds like the end of the world - we are told about the ice cap melting, about the ozone layer disappearing in the North Pole... I'm wondering about what I can actually do now! Pray? No, I'm an atheist - Stop driving? I don't have a car - Sort garbage? I already do so - Turn my TV and radio off? I come back to my first idea - is praying the only way out? This question really haunted me for a whole day... I didn't want to start praying but the question aroused particular feelings in me - I felt powerless. I reckoned many people felt the same. I asked two friends of mine to strike a praying pose - no pastiche, I wanted it simple - and I made a collage with the text "Is praying the only thing left?" both in French and in English. :-) Since then, things haven't got better - credit crunch, unemployment, swine influenza - the nightmare seems to be here for good and I'm not very hopeful.

For the KKO festival in Altkirch (right now), I made a collage of an unknown little boy's ID photograph. In my collages, I very often like showing people I meet, but above all, I like showing unknown people - either old photographs from a flee market or an antique shop, or an ID photograph found on the ground. I'm fond of the slightly strained and forced smile of the kid. And then, there's this hand - whose hand is it? His mother's? From his clothes and his haircut as well as the quality of the photo, I would say the photograph was taken at the end of the 70s.
